Server Config Generator

Set up a reverse proxy, WordPress, static site, or PHP-FPM config for Nginx or Apache. Fill in the details on the left and copy the result on the right.

About this tool

Most config generators online produce something that looks plausible but breaks on a real server — a missing directive, a directive that isn't legal in the file you're putting it in, or syntax a newer version has deprecated. The output was tested on real Nginx 1.27 and Apache 2.4 servers during development, not just read over for typos, using a real nginx -t or a real Apache config and request check. (That testing happened during development, not live in your browser each time you generate a config.) See How to use ProxyForge for a walkthrough of every setting and where the output goes.

How it works

STEP 1

Pick Nginx or Apache, and what you're setting up — a reverse proxy, WordPress, a static site, or a PHP-FPM app.

STEP 2

Fill in your domain and backend details. Toggle HTTPS, gzip, or WebSocket support as needed — the config updates live as you go.

STEP 3

Copy the result and drop it straight onto your server. No signup, no accounts — everything runs in your browser.

Where your app is actually running.
Nginx's default is 1m — raise this if your app accepts larger uploads. Getting a 413 error?
Assumes a certificate is already issued (e.g. via Certbot).
Needed for live reload, sockets, or streaming APIs.
Restores real visitor IPs and warns about the HTTPS redirect loop. Seeing ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS?
E.g. Ubuntu 22.04 or Debian 11 packages. Check yours with nginx -v. Changes the HTTPS block only. Seeing unknown directive "http2"?
